Fostering Benefits

Fostering is highly specialised because it entails looking after someone else's child for a specific period of time, or in some cases, until the child reaches independence.

Free Initial Training Course

We run a 'Skills to Foster' training course throughout the year specifically geared to people who are considering fostering. This is free and is held on two consecutive Saturdays to allow people who work to attend. If you would like to be considered for our next available training course, please contact us.

Jay Fostering is an independent fostering agency, who have been established for over 9 years and provide "Outstanding outcomes" for children and young people (OFSTED 2013). We are based in Leicester but help over 30 Local Authorities in the East and West Midlands to find foster homes for children they cannot place with.

We are currently expanding our foster carer recruitment in the East and West Midlands, predominantly in the areas of Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Warwickshire, Nottingham and Derby, we are looking for people who have the time, commitment and a genuine interest in working with children. If you enjoy working as part of a team and enjoy a challenge then we would like to hear from you.

To become a foster carer with Jay Fostering, you need no specific qualifications other than an enjoyment of children and young people and the ability to provide them with a safe, secure and nurturing family environment.

Our staff are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to support our carers. We pride ourselves on the excellent standard of care provided by our foster carers.

Foster carers are so important because without their help, support, protection and guidance many vulnerable children and young people could face life without understanding and experience of what good parenting is and what it means to enjoy a childhood.
