FAQ's
Q – I am single. Can I still foster? A – Yes you can. You do
not need to be part of a couple to foster. We have a number
of approved single foster carers. We will look at your other
support networks when considering you.
Q - I am in full time work. Will fostering be a viable
alternative to employment? A – It could be. There are generous fees for foster
placements and the income tax regime means that in some
cases, most of your fostering income will not be taxed.
Q – I still have my own children at home. Will this exclude
me from fostering? A – No, we just need to be more careful in
making sure any foster child matches your own children. You
will, however, need a spare bedroom for any foster child as
they cannot usually share a bedroom with anyone else.
Q – I am still undecided about whether to take up fostering.
