Fostering For Us

Fostering is highly specialised because it entails looking after someone else’s child for a specific period of time, or in some cases, until the child reaches independence.  Because these children are so vulnerable, the law surrounding fostering is very detailed and the process for becoming a foster carer can be intrusive and time consuming. However it can also be extremely rewarding.

We are therefore looking for patient, open, highly motivated individuals and couples who can demonstrate that they can provide a secure and stable home to vulnerable children.

Foster carers are needed for a whole rage of different placements. Depending on suitability, you can be considered for a wide range of foster placements or specialise in a certain area, for example:

  • Asylum seekers
  • Parent and baby
  • Respite only
  • Children with disabilities
  • Babies

If you become a foster carer with Jay Fostering, you will not just be joining a committed, friendly and child orientated team. You will also be able to access the following benefits:

  • Generous fees paid per child in placement
  • Generous respite entitlement
  • Excellent training
  • Ongoing support, including a 24 hour support line

If you want to know more about fostering, then drop us a line or e-mail us a question.

If we think you may be suitable, one of our Social Workers can visit you for a more in-depth chat about fostering issues before you make a final decision. We never pressurise people into fostering with us because we believe that fostering with us has to be right for all parties.

Free initial training course:

We run a training course throughout the year specifically geared to people who are considering fostering.
They are free and with no obligation. They are held in the evenings and at a weekend to allow people who
work to attend. If you would like to be considered for our next available training course, please contact us.
