Fostering is highly specialised because it entails looking after someone else's child for a specific period of time, or in some cases, until the child reaches independence.

Free Initial Training Course

We run a training course throughout the year specifically geared to people who are considering fostering.
They are free and are held in the evenings and to allow people who work to attend. If you would like to be considered for our next available training course, please contact us.

CARER RECRUITMENT OFFICER FOR JAY FOSTERING

Hayley AtterHi my name is Hayley Atter,

I'm the carer recruitment officer for Jay Fostering; my role includes dealing with all potential new carers from their first enquiry through to being approved foster carers.  I look forward to meeting our existing carers and would be grateful for any information they may be able to give me, thus helping me in my role of recruiting more carers of such high quality of which we already have.

So if you are interested in becoming a foster carer I would like to hear from you , whether you are ringing to find out a bit more about us or would like to apply to become a foster carer.  Initially, we will have a friendly telephone conversation and take down some details from you, an initial visit will then be arranged by one of our social workers to come and meet you in person.  You will get to know everything about the role of a foster carer, how long the process takes and anything else you would like to know.

If you would like to know more about becoming a foster carer, you are welcome to attend our Skills to Foster Training, our Supervising Social Workers will be organising a two day training programme on various dates over the coming year.
